STATUS: OPERATIONAL (ISH)  ·  LOCATION: CLASSIFIED-ISH

A DOMAIN WAS
PURCHASED. THERE
IS NO PLAN.

Welcome to defcon.my.id — a personal command center built on the operating principle of the U.S. military's DEFCON scale, run by someone with zero military experience and a mild caffeine dependency. Threat levels update based on vibes.

Broadcasting since 2026 Fueled entirely by coffee

CURRENT THREAT LEVEL — TAP TO REASSESS

5 FADE OUT

Cognizant. Sipping coffee. Domain sitting unused.

FILE 001 — ORIGIN

Why does a hobby site
need a threat scale?

It doesn't. That's the point. This domain was bought on a Tuesday for no defensible reason, the word "DEFCON" sounded appropriately dramatic for a website that mostly exists to hold my opinions and a gallery of pictures, and here we are. Consider this a command center for a country of one, where the only real threat is scope creep.

Every section below borrows the real DEFCON framework — readiness conditions, code names, escalation — and repoints it at the much smaller, much sillier problem of "what should this website do." Spoiler: mostly nothing. Beautifully.

FILE 002 — READINESS CONDITIONS

The five stages of
"I'll just fix one small thing."

The real DEFCON scale runs from 5 (peacetime) to 1 (maximum readiness). This one runs from "everything is fine" to "I pushed to main at 2am and I am not thinking about it."

5 FADE OUT

Cognizant

Baseline reality. The domain exists, is unused, and everyone involved (me) is at peace. Coffee is for enjoyment, not survival.

4 DOUBLE TAKE

Increased Chatter

Someone says "you should build something with that." A small, dangerous idea takes root. Vague dread begins its slow ascent.

3 ROUND HOUSE

Elevated Readiness

VS Code is open. The project has been renamed three times. Seventeen Stack Overflow tabs are on standby. A Bootstrap CDN link has been copy-pasted with confidence.

2 FAST PACE

High Alert

It is 2:14 AM. CSS variables are everywhere and nowhere. Coffee reserves are critical. A dark mode toggle has consumed four hours of an otherwise reasonable life.

1 COCKED PISTOL

Maximum Readiness

Pushed straight to main. No tests. No regrets, officially. This message will self-destruct the moment anyone asks "did you test this."

FILE 003 — OPERATION DEFCONHACK

An annual hackathon
that exists in one head.

OPERATION DEFCONHACK is a fully fictional, gloriously unattended hackathon held once a year, entirely by me, for an audience of me. There is no venue. There is no wifi outage to blame things on, which is honestly worse.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
  1. There are no other participants. This is by design, not by popularity.
  2. The judging panel consists of one (1) rubber duck. Its decisions are final.
  3. Scope creep is not just allowed — it is the primary deliverable.
  4. Stack Overflow tabs do not count against your originality score.
  5. If it works, do not ask why. Nobody involved knows.
OPERATION TIMELINE LOCAL TIME
  • Opening CeremonyLaptop is opened. Optimism: high.
  • Idea BriefingScrolls social media for "inspiration" instead.
  • Sprint OneReads documentation. Understands roughly 40% of it.
  • Tactical RefuelInstant noodles, consumed at battle stations.
  • Sprint TwoActual code gets written. Some of it stays.
  • Live DemoPresented to a rubber duck. It does not blink.
  • Awards CeremonySelf-issues a participation trophy. Accepts graciously.

FILE 004 — THREAT BOARD

Numbers make anything look official. These are only occasionally exaggerated.

0 Cups of coffee consumed
0 Bugs shipped as "features"
0 Times this project was renamed
0 Commits simply titled "fix"
0 Hours lost to a CSS toggle
0 Existential crises, this week

FILE 006 — FIELD REPORTS

Verified*, unsolicited
testimonials.

“10 out of 10 alert fatigue. Would panic again.”

— Anonymous Analyst

“I asked if this site does anything useful. It said no. Refreshing honesty.”

— A Friend, Probably

“Finally, a DEFCON scale calibrated to someone's caffeine intake.”

— Concerned Cardiologist (Not Real)

“I have never been more entertained by a domain that does nothing.”

— Visitor #2

*Not actually verified. Or real. Morale remains high.

FILE 007 — DEBRIEF

Questions, answered
with mild sarcasm.

A standard debrief covers what happened, why, and whether it will happen again. Ours covers roughly the same, minus anything actually classified.

Statistically speaking, nothing. It exists so the domain doesn't feel lonely, and so I have somewhere to put a threat dial.

As real as any event with a headcount of one. Attendance has been 100% every year, technically.

Sure. Email it into the void below. The void is surprisingly responsive, in that it never responds.

The domain was available, the acronym sounded serious, and self-restraint was already at DEFCON 1 that day.

It stays entirely in your browser's local storage. Nothing is transmitted anywhere — there's no backend listening on the other end.

Per the schedule above, yes, right after Sprint Two. Historically, Sprint Two never ends.

FILE 008 — ENLISTMENT

Sign the non-aggression pact.

Leave your email below to enlist in absolutely nothing. You will not receive updates, mainly because there is no mailing system connected to this form. Your commitment, however, will be entirely genuine.

This form is decorative. It goes absolutely nowhere.
